Oats Khichdi

1 cup oats, lightly toasted

1 cup moong dal, soaked

1 cup mixed vegetable, cut into cubes (carrots, green peas, cauliflower florets)

¼ tsp turmeric

½ tsp coriander powder

1 tbsp ginger garlic, chopped


For tempering

1 tsp olive oil

¼ tsp cumin seeds

1 bay leaf

4-5 pepper corn

2-3 cloves

  • In kadhai add oil and temper all spices until crackles.
  • Now add ginger garlic for 2 minutes. Followed by vegetable, turmeric and coriander powder.
  • Now at this stage add oats, moong dal and 4 cups water. Allow it to cook until gets smooth in texture.
  • Remove and serve hot.
