Marina Smileva Yoga Teacher

Marina is a student of life and a yoga devotee with experience in the teaching of 6 years. She loves helping people live a harmonious life, through compassion and presence working on taking responsibility for one’s psychological and physical state, overcoming and releasing self-limiting thoughts and beliefs in order to fulfill their potential.

By demystifying yoga and at the same time nurturing its authenticity and purpose, she works with groups as well as individuals who feel ready to start the inner journey of self-discovery and self-actualization.
In addition to regular yoga classes, where body-mind alignment is the priority, she also leads meditation and relaxation sessions.

Throughout the year Marina is organizing and runs yoga courses, workshops, retreats, and teacher training in her hometown Skopje, North Macedonia, as well as around the Mediterranean.

As a student of psychology, she is immensely interested in somatic experiencing therapy, in which she sees the perfect balance between Eastern philosophy and Western practice as tools to help us live in peace and harmony, first with ourselves and then with the world around us.

After many years of practice, she was certified (200hr YTT) to teach Hatha Vinyasa yoga by the Yogashala Institute School from Marbella, Spain, according to the standards of Yoga Alliance.
Following her inner calling, in 2017, she went to Mysore, India, where she did her second (300hr YTT) Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga teacher training at Nirvana Yoga Shala, guided by my beloved teachers Surya Vatsa and Swami Deva Arhato. In 2018 she went back to India to study the philosophy of yoga, and in 2019 in Mysore, she completed 1 and 2 level of Thai Yoga Bodywork.

She lives in Skopje, Macedonia, wherein 2018 she established Maitri Yoga, a yoga and meditation center and registered yoga school (RYS200)
